چکیده

To explore the protective effect of sesame seed oil (SSO) extracted from Til-06 variety in Sprague-Dawley male rats against management hypercholesterolemia, current two-phase study was conducted. In first phase, taken out seeds (Til-06) and physicochemical analysis carried to find content following by evaluation quality attributes oil. second efficacy check hyperlipidemic activity Randomly distributed twenty (20) into 5 different groups with four (04) each group for 60 days fed as follow; on a basal diet, while other were 2, 4, 6 8% SSO plus diet. Blood samples collected at beginning end biochemical i.e. lipid profile which includes high-density lipoprotein (HDL-C), triglycerides (TG), low-density (LDL-C), total cholesterol (TC), very-low-density (VLDL) antioxidant status. Findings present indicate that oral administration significantly (P < 0.05) improved status lower TC, LDL-C, TG, VLDL-C, higher HDL-C values hypercholesterolemic rats.

Amelioration of Seed Yield, Oil Content and Oil Quality through Induced Mutagenesis in Sesame (sesamum Indicum L.)

Thirty mutant lines selected from 3 widely adapted genotypes of sesame viz. Rama, SI 1666 and IC 21706 (ten from each of the three genotypes), developed by induced physical (γ-rays) and chemical (EMS) mutagens, were evaluated against their respective control genotype for yield and its important attributes in M4 generation to reveal the ramification of mutagens for disclosing the magnitude of va...

Wound healing activity of Sesamum indicum L seed and oil in rats.

The seeds of S. indicum L (Pedaliaceae) are used traditionally in the folklore for the treatment of various kinds of wounds. The present study was undertaken to verify the effect of S. indicum seeds and its oil on experimentally induced excision wound, incision wound, burn wound and dead space wound models in rats. Aloe vera was used as standard wound healing agent. A formulation of seeds and o...

Inheritance and Association of Oil and Protein Content and Seed Coat Type in Sesame, Sesamum Indicum L.

breeders will probably concentrate more effort on other agronomic and chemical characteristics of this plant. A knowledge of the genetic behavior of oil content, protein content and seed coat type should be helpful in the selection of high oil and protein lines. The purpose of this paper is to report inheritance studies of oil content, protein content and rough and smooth seed coat type along w...

Genetic Analysis and QTL Mapping of Seed Coat Color in Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.)

Seed coat color is an important agronomic trait in sesame, as it is associated with seed biochemical properties, antioxidant content and activity and even disease resistance of sesame. Here, using a high-density linkage map, we analyzed genetic segregation and quantitative trait loci (QTL) for sesame seed coat color in six generations (P1, P2, F1, BC1, BC2 and F2). Results showed that two major...

Manufacture of low-benzo(a)pyrene sesame seed (Sesamum indicum L.) oil using a self-designed apparatus

The aim of this study was to lower benzo(a)pyrene (BaP) contents in sesame seed oil (SSO) during manufacture by using a self-designed apparatus, to determine its optimal conditions, and to analyze antioxidants in SSO which might be related to BaP content reduction. Washing and spin-drying steps reduce exogenous BaP contamination, and the reduced moisture in seeds lowered BaP content in final SS...
